AccessFold

Accessibility assessment · Early Access

Find accessibility problems, fix them, and keep the evidence.

AccessFold is an evidence-based accessibility assessment platform: automated WCAG checks with every result shown, a workspace to track fixes, dated reports and monitoring. It tells you plainly what automation cannot decide.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add your site

Register the site you want to assess. For some reports — such as an accessibility statement — you also prove you control the domain.

  2. 2

    Run an assessment

Check a single page or the whole site, at desktop and phone widths, against the WCAG version you choose.

  3. 3

    Fix, re-check, document

Track each issue to resolution, re-assess to confirm, and keep dated reports and a statement draft.

What AccessFold does

Automated WCAG assessment

Automated checks against WCAG, with every rule’s result shown — including rules that found nothing to test.

Learn more

AccessFold browser checks

Four browser checks of our own: keyboard traversal, open dialogs, the accessibility tree, and reflow at narrow widths.

Learn more

Site-wide assessment

Assess a whole site, page by page, with issues that repeat across pages grouped together.

Learn more

Reports, evidence pack and certificate

A dated, immutable report for each run, an evidence pack for the whole property, and a certificate that records what was assessed.

Learn more

Issue Register

One register for every issue — from the scanner, your own review or a visitor — with priority, an owner, a due date and a retest when you say it is fixed.

Learn more

Monitoring and regression alerts

Scheduled re-assessment, with an alert when something gets worse.

Learn more

Expert review (VPAT/ACR)

Invite an accessibility expert to author and sign a VPAT/ACR-style review inside the product.

Learn more

Document accessibility

Check PDFs against PDF/UA (ISO 14289-1) — 18 automated and 12 manual checkpoints — and run basic structure checks on Word and PowerPoint files before you publish them.

Learn more

Accessibility statement draft

Draft an accessibility statement from your evidence — in the general W3C model or the EU Web Accessibility Directive or European Accessibility Act structure — then have it reviewed.

Learn more

Visitor toolbar

An optional visitor toolbar for display and reading preferences, in English, Greek, Dutch and German. It helps visitors adapt a page; it does not fix your site’s code — that is what the assessment is for.

Learn more

Manual review with test guides

Plan the evaluation the W3C way, then review every criterion automation cannot decide — each with a step-by-step test guide.

Learn more

Journeys and pages behind a login

Assess sign-up, checkout and pages behind a login: record the steps once and each state you mark is assessed. By default nothing is submitted.

Learn more

Accessibility Conformance Report draft

Draft an Accessibility Conformance Report in four editions, filled only from evidence you recorded — the rest stays Not Evaluated.

Learn more

Integrations

Send issues to GitHub or Jira, receive signed webhooks, and fail a deploy only on new serious problems with an API key.

What automation can’t decide — and how we show it

  • Automated checks can produce evidence for part of WCAG. A criterion no automated check can decide is not a criterion that passed — we list those for a person to review.
  • A result is only as wide as its coverage. Every report says which pages, which baseline and which checks ran.
  • The visitor toolbar changes how a page looks for one visitor. It does not change your code, so it cannot make a site conform to anything.
  • An assessment certificate records what was assessed and when. It is not a conformance claim, and nothing here is legal advice.

And for your visitors: an optional toolbar

An optional visitor toolbar for display and reading preferences, in English, Greek, Dutch and German. It helps visitors adapt a page; it does not fix your site’s code — that is what the assessment is for.

  • It does not repair your site’s markup, and it does not make a site conform to any standard.
  • Read-aloud uses the browser’s speech feature; it is not a screen reader.

Questions

Is AccessFold free?

AccessFold is available free during Early Access. Create a Union Fold account and switch AccessFold on. During Early Access some capabilities are enabled per account — tell us what you need.

Will AccessFold make my website compliant?

No tool can do that on its own. AccessFold finds issues automation can detect, lists what needs a person, tracks fixes and keeps the evidence. Whether a site meets a law is a judgement for you and your advisers.

Does the toolbar fix accessibility problems?

No. It lets a visitor adjust how a page is displayed in their own browser. Problems in your markup stay until they are fixed in your code.

Which WCAG version do you assess?

WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA by default. You can choose WCAG 2.0 or 2.1 when a law you work under names that version — for example Section 508 (2.0) or EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2.1).

Do you check PDFs?

Yes. PDFs linked from your site can be checked against PDF/UA: 18 automated and 12 manual checkpoints. Other document formats are listed so you can see they were not assessed.

Start with one page. See what it tells you.
