Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act)
What it asks for
- Services in scope — including their websites — meet the accessibility requirements; conformity with the harmonised standard EN 301 549 gives a presumption of conformity.
- Service providers make information available on how their service meets the requirements.
How AccessFold helps
- Evidence for the web part of a service, mapped to EN 301 549 clause 9.
- A draft accessibility statement built from your assessment.
- Monitoring that shows whether things stay fixed.
What this does not cover
- Everything that is not web content: products, apps, terminals, customer service and the end-to-end service flow.
- Whether your organisation is in scope, or exempt as a microenterprise, is a legal question for you and your advisers.
- EN 301 549 covers more than web content — non-web ICT, software, documentation and support services. AccessFold assesses web content, so evidence maps to its web chapter (clause 9).
AccessFold provides diagnostics and evidence relevant to this framework. It does not determine compliance.
